Hunger Games.
Obsessed.
The first, Hunger Games, was finally available as an e-book and I downloaded it prior to my trip. I don’t quite remember when I started reading it, just that I’ve wanted to read it since I heard about the movie and Entertainment Weekly started doing these features about the cast. I mean, come on—who DOESN’T want to see the manliness of Sexy Stanley Tucci with blue hair? Also, the kid from Bridge to Terabithia turned out pretty hot too, daresay a bit like the American equivalent to Matthew Lewis (a bit).
Anyway.
I devoured Hunger Games. And I subsequently bought the other two books upon finishing the book. Merry Christmas to me. I much prefer this young adult/juvenile fiction series over the other. I mean, dystopian United States with a hint of cannibalism? Who isn’t the least bit intrigued?
I’m very curious now about the movie. I could do without the actor playing Gale and I do wish someone else had the role, but I could be convinced otherwise.
* I think Katniss should have chosen Gale because it was a more natural, better fit. But I do understand why she chose Peeta. Anyway. It was an indubitably refreshing read after suffering through Twilight and four books of “ohmygod my boyfriend is sooooooooooo unfair.” B.S. Give me kids killing each other for entertainment instead.
